Topic: pyramids on the Nile
Lo1 - describe the geography of Egypt

Main geographic advantages are the two rivers

The Nile river runs south to north and the outlet is in the Mediterranean sea

Moves from south to north

Lower Egyptian the kingdom exists in the southern region and is more well known

Gaza region = big pyramids and a good spot for growing cotton

  • Upper = south
  • Lower = north

Egypt is sometimes referred to the land of the pharaoh

The Nile and the two lands-

Upper Egypt was A 500-mile long strip of fertile land along the Nile; lower Egypt was the wide land of the Nile delta, emptying into the Mediterranean sea

The Nile was a major provider of life for the Egyptians and was much revered in lore and writing

Reading guide:  1. What were the causes of each condition that led to the fall of the Roman empire?        a. Disruption Trade -  Hostile tribes outside of the boundaries of the empire interfered with the trade.      b.
